About Jorge and Survive Technology

My name is Jorge, and I am passionate about understanding technology. Though technology wasn't my first love, I have had a love for technology since joining the Army. Before this, I wanted to be a music teacher. Growing up playing in the orchestra and in bands, I see many similarities between both an orchestra and an IT department. Both require a great deal of collaboration to produce the desired result. Each musician in the orchestra is responsible for their own part, while the IT department needs a team of experts to work together to complete a project. Both entities must understand the importance of communication and organization and the potential for failure if one component of the project is not executed correctly. Furthermore, both require a considerable amount of practice and preparation to achieve the desired outcome. Whether it is a beautiful performance or a successful software launch, the orchestra and IT department both depend on their ability to work together to achieve success.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas, which has enabled me to gain a greater understanding of internet development, game design, instructional systems, and information processing. I've worked in IT since 2009 and have had the privilege of working with some amazing companies and people. My experience has helped me hone my skills in several areas, including cybersecurity, network administration, and IT service management. I'm passionate about using technology to solve problems and am constantly looking for better ways to do things. I'm also an advocate for using automation to streamline processes and maximize efficiency. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and dogs and exploring the outdoors. I am also a part-time tutor, helping others to understand the basics of how to avoid fraud. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the latest technology trends and building my security awareness training. I also like to stay updated with the latest news in the industry and connect with other tech enthusiasts. With my knowledge and experience, I am confident in my ability to help others understand technology and help them navigate their own digital world better.
